There was a headwind from the east during the regatta. The conditions were cool, but sunny, with lots of parents. Culver won three of the nine events it raced in, the Girls Varsity 8+, the Girls Varsity 4+ and the Girls Novice 4+. For the third regatta in a row CGA won the Varsity 4+, and improved from eight seconds behind Loyola in the Varsity 8+ to a victory by almost two seconds. This was the first race of the season for the CGA Novice 8+, including four year coxswain and team captain Ann Foraker rowing in the bow seat. CMA crews showed improvement but were still behind Loyola and St. Ignatius in most of the races. In particular, the Boys Varsity 8+ cut the margin in half behind Loyola from the weekend before, from eighteen seconds to nine. The CMA Varsity 4+ had an oar come out of and oarlock at the motels, but replaced it and repassed St. John’s Jesuit.
